Description
I have always loved crows and ravens, and felt a mysterious connection to them; the shiny, iridescent layered colors of the feathers, dark silhouette, mischievous, playful nature, magical and otherworldly associations, myths and legends, goofy walk, soaring flight, strong beak, delightful personality.........
In spring/summer 2012, I briefly fulfilled a dream of having a pet crow, as my family cared for an injured baby that could not get back to the parents. Fortunately, the crow, who we named Minelda, recovered and was able to rejoin her waiting family in the trees. It took several weeks, but Minelda's parents visited every day, never giving up. We were determined to get her back to them.
Ironically, prior to caring for Minelda, I had been working on a series of crow paintings, as well as reading and learning about these clever and often misunderstood creatures. I promptly learned a lot more, and out of that came this.......
Quoi II depicts the charming black bird in flight among glowing trumpet vines in an almost asian style composition on a simple white background.

Sign of luck, it is also associated with the archetype of the trickster; be aware of deceiving appearances. If the crow has chosen you as your spirit or totem animal, it supports you in developing the power of sight, transformation, and connection with lifes magic.
