This is a classic Rocky Mountain landscape based loosely on a wide dirt trail, or road, near Boulder and Arvada Colorado, out were there is red dirt and lots of fossils, with a view of the mountains beyond. The sun was low in the sky, giving a bright backdrop that brought out dark, rich colors in the hills and mountains beyond, on this cool, windy day. Sometimes we get caught up in daily activities of life and forget that this serenity exists. In our case, luckily, it exists quite nearby.

Colorado really can be this colorful. I wish I could remember the name of this park, but at the moment I cannot. Does anybody think they know?
To me, making art is about the stopping of time, as are so many of the things I most love doing. I don't believe in time as we know it. When I become engaged in creating something, I no longer feel subject to time's constricting whims. That is why I am driven to create. I love the light touch and thrilling chemistry of watercolor painting, the bold strokes possible in pastel work, the patterns I can create with an ink drawing, and learning something new, always. Color thrills me. Texture delights. I hope with each work to retain the clarity of what I see, and bring that into view for others.
