A riled up rooster defends his territory, noisily. There is nothing quite like painting this bizarre bird, to make you realize how truly weird-looking they are, and also so expressive. In any case, in this colorful version of the classic cockerel, I was focused on achieving the texture of the feathers, and the sense of constant motion, as well as the attitude of the barnyard bird.

To me, making art is about the stopping of time, as are so many of the things I most love doing. I don't believe in time as we know it.
