Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. A black-throated blue warbler perches low in the forest shrubs, its cool blue plumage set off simply with the contrasting white background in a style reminiscent of asian art.

The Black-throated Blue Warbler (Setophaga caerulescens) is a small songbird of the New World warbler family.

It breeds in the interior of deciduous and mixed forests in eastern North America. It builds its nests in thick shrubs and the closeness of its nesting sites to the ground make the Black-throated Blue Warbler a favored species for the study of warbler behavior in the wild.

To me, making art is about the stopping of time, as are so many of the things I most love doing. I don't believe in time as we know it. When I become engaged in creating something, I no longer feel subject to time's constricting whims. That is why I am driven to create.
