Longing is a series of five semiabstract seascape watercolor artworks, meditatively and intuitively painted in a predominantly blue palette, to create a peaceful sense of retreat No medium is as suitable for paintings of water than watercolor, and you can see in this series the loose, wet, splashing, fluid movement watercolors make possible. I painted these wet blue meditations using a combination of soft and hard edges, wet in wet painting, distinctive brushstrokes and luck. reflection.

I’ve been planning a painting trip to Cannon Beach Oregon,and thinking of the coast got me to dreaming. But I wasn’t quite in the mood, yet, for the lovely grey and moody hues of the northern coast as I usually see it. I wanted blue coolness and a breezy simplicity. Seascape, with calm water or waves, seafoam, distant, hazy vistas, skies filled with clouds or fog, fill me with a sense of infinite possibility that I hope you will also feel.
