Artist's Description

How I See It
*****
How I See It is a loose, fluid Colorado landscape painting done in alcohol inks on yupo paper. Painted in a passionate and imprecise manner, with vivid colors; this really is how I see it.
*****
There is a time to pay close attention to details, and there is a time to just cut yourself loose and paint. A river, a stream, a wild place under bright sun and blue skies....somewhat abstract. I painted this in a horizontal format, because the focus was really on what was right in front of me. This is a small painting with a big voice. I hope it speaks to you.

Alcohol inks are not easy to control, like watercolor, but possibly more so, and that is part of their charm, and also part of the challenge of working with them. On a non porous surface, the colors tend toward vibrancy.
*****
Yupo is a synthetic paper, that is is 100% recyclable, waterproof and tree-free. The slicker texture provides an ideal surface for painting in alcohol inks.

Color thrills me. Texture delights. I hope with each work to retain the clarity of what I see, and bring that into view for others. I may not always achieve that, but the honest desire is present in each of my pieces. For those who enjoy facts; I am a signature member of...
