This is a digitally altered version of my original painting, Visions. I felt that offering several color options gives buyers more choices and the opportunity to make a really interesting visual display using the same image with color variations and hanging 3 or 4 pieces in a grouping.

A softly blended, colorful trio of psychedelic magic mushrooms in the foreground draws the eye, as the background undulates with softer, misty and more subtle mushroom forms. Are they further away , the ancestors, or just a vision? I was listening to the Jerry Garcia Band while working on this one.

This piece was painted in honor of the annual Telluride Mushroom Festival, in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, where, annually, fungi enthusiasts gather to share knowledge, information, good times and their visions.
To me, making art is about the stopping of time, as are so many of the things I most love doing. I don't believe in time as we know it. When I become engaged in creating something, I no longer feel subject to time's constricting whims. That is why I am driven to create. I love the light touch and thrilling chemistry of watercolor painting, the bold strokes possible in pastel work, the patterns I can create with an ink drawing, and learning something new, always. Color thrills me. Texture delights. I hope with each work to retain the clarity of what I see, and bring that into view for others.
