A Golden Aura
I like painting owls. This one is painted in an unusual earthy combination of brown, yellow, violet and blue, using the traditional watercolor method of leaving the white of the paper where the bird�s plumage is white or highlighted, and surrounded in a metallic golden background, that is more evident in the original than the prints. The golden aura closest to the owl adds warmth to an otherwise cool and wintry feeling composition, and also shows the brushstrokes in the negative space.
