Rocks Near Red Feather
Artist
Beverley Harper Tinsley
Medium
Painting - Watercolor And Graphite
Description
I painted this striking arrangement of red rocks and trees en plain air at a friend's cabin, near Red Feather Lakes jn Colorado. Thinking back to that day, I can almost smell the evergreen trees, and the mountain soil baking in the hot summer sun. There were wildflowers blooming and hummingbirds feeding..........just an all-around sense of well-being and serenity. The original painting is available as matted and framed. Please contact the artist for photos of framed piece.

Located in the Rocky Mountains northwest of Fort Collins, this rustic mountain village is far from hectic city life. Surrounded by the 612,000-acre Roosevelt National Forest, the Red Feather Lakes area is a year-round outdoor playground that offers beautiful scenery, diverse wildlife, hiking trails and cozy mountain retreats. The nearby Cache La Poudre River, Colorado's first designated Wild and Scenic River, is the area's best spot for whitewater rafting, kayaking and fishing. Serene Red Feather Lakes is also the perfect place for idling under the sun with a good book.

Beverley, This is so very gorgeous with fabulous details and glorious colors. To know that you painted this en plein air is quite impressive too. OH, how I love this painting. F/V (You're on my watch list, that's for sure.)

Thank you so much for your kind comments. Plein air is tricky, isn't it?

This is very beautiful. I loved the bright orange against the blues and greens of the background.
