Description
Great Balls Of Fire
*****
Great Balls Of Fire is an abstract landscape painting of a typical Colorado autumn scene, featuring apsen trees at their peak colors for the season- red, orange yellow and gold, commanding attention in an otherwise earthy mountainous setting of evergreen trees, and a dull, pale sky with the hint of cold weather.
*****
When I paint landscapes, I choose to focus not on realism but more on the feeling I have when I visit such a location. In this case, I used a combination of loose wet painting, and calligraphic type, bold markings, to indicate the evergreen trees, earth and grass in the location.
*****
Like raging fireballs, or giant lemons, the aspens glow in an almost surreal fashion, daring you, for the brief moment of their intensity, to believe what you are seeing.
*****
This painting is framed and ready to hang in a simple silver frame with double black matting to make the colors pop out all the brighter. For photos of the original art including the frame, or to discuss pricing without the frame (for easier shipping), please contact the artist directly by email.
